Feeling Confident With Incontinence Products For Men

Incontinence Products For Men
Many men hate the idea of using incontinence products. The idea of wearing an adult diaper, urine collection bag, or some other product designed to catch urine undermines their feelings of manliness. However, incontinence products for men can decrease embarrassing accidents, improve quality of life, and most importantly increase confidence. The following is a quick look at what to consider when selecting incontinence products, as well as a look at some of the options available to men:

Anatomically shaped: Look for items specifically designed for men, as they will be anatomically shaped to provide the best protection. This will help to offer protection in the areas where it is needed the most. Guards are a great option for this. Incontinence pads designed for men, drip collectors, and even absorbent underwear, all offer absorption so that men can confidently go about their day without worrying about leaking on their clothes, odor, etc.

Maintain dignity: In order to confidently use incontinence products, men need to be able to maintain their dignity. This is done by selecting products that meet one or more of the following criteria:
  • Easy to dispose of- No matter how low profile it is, or comfortable, if it is challenging to dispose of, it will be a challenge to maintain dignity. Look for options that are easy to remove, that hide well under clothing, that meet absorbency needs, and can be disposed of simply, even when not at home.
  • Looks and feels like normal underwear- Some of the best incontinence products for men look and feel just like traditional underwear, but have absorbent layers, and an absorbent core to provide leak protection. These come in underwear as well as boxers, allowing men to select their preference.
  • Offers leak protection- No matter what products a man chooses, they need to disperse liquid quickly, and channel it to an absorbent core so that leaks do not occur. There are several options, from catheters, to penile clamps, absorbent underwear, pads, guards, etc. Sometimes the best way to determine which offers you the best leak protection is to try before you buy, by ordering a sample (which costs only $3.49 S&H).
  • Offers odor protection- Smelling like urine is a quick give away. To maintain dignity, male incontinence products need to offer odor control and protection.

Protect skin: The skin on and around the penis can be very sensitive, thus it is important for men to seek products where liquid is quickly wicked and locked away from the skin for ultimate skin dryness, leakage protection and odor control.
