Lee Woodruff Will Be Keynote Speaker at November Caregiver Symposium

by Lynn Wilson, Founder of The CareGiver Partnership
Lee Woodruff will be the keynote speaker at this year’s “The New Age of Caregiving Symposium” on Nov. 16 at the Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park, St. Petersburg, Fla. Woodruff is a CBS This Morning contributor and author of several best-selling books, including “In An Instant,” which chronicles her caregiver journey with Bob Woodruff, an ABC correspondent injured while on assignment in Iraq.
The CareGiver Partnership is helping to sponsor this important caregiver symposium for the second year. As a former caregiver, I know the challenges and how important it is for caregivers to care for themselves, too.

“The New Age of Caregiving Symposium” focuses on holistic principles and practices that overwhelmed caregivers can use to reduce stress and replenish their spirits. Highlights of the event:

  • Tom Curran’s firsthand account of battling Parkinson’s disease
  • Margery Pabst workshop on cooperation in the workplace when facing caregiver challenges
  • Nutritional workshop for caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients by chef Christopher Rivera
  • Caregiver makeovers and holistic spa with massage and healing touch services
  • Respite at the event and transportation to and from the symposium
  • 70 exhibitors, meals and door prizes
The symposium, in its second year, was developed by Kim Linder, host of a Tampa-based Caregiver Hour radio show and provider of a 24/7 caregiver telephone help line. Tickets are available online at www.newageofcaregiving symposium.com, or by calling 727-798-2663 or faxing 813-920-7722.
