Mood Swings

Mood swings are one symptom facing menopausal women.
Mood swings are just one of the joys of menopause. Not every woman experiences them, however, for many it is a part of menopause. The hormonal fluctuations are often erratic, much more so than after menopause, when ovarian hormones stabilize at a low level. However, most agree that mood swings, while affected by hormone shifts, are not caused by them.

There is no link between mood and diminished estrogen, but researchers do believe that mood changes can be attributed to the disruption of established patterns in a woman’s life because of hormonal shifts. There is a lot of stress that naturally occurs during this time of life, such as teenagers, children leaving the nest, retirement planning, and the like. When you combine these common life stresses with hormone shifts during menopause, it often leads to things like laughing on minute and crying the next.

Transient moods, depression, and anxiety are all part of menopause, especially for those that have had previous episodes of depression. However, they are most commonly attributed to the poor sleep from insomnia and night sweats, as this leads to fatigue and irritability, rather than a depression caused by hormonal imbalances.

Mood swings are often treated with medication, however, taking care of yourself, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and using stress-reducing methods, can lead to improved mood without the use of medication. Herbal remedies can also be used. In order to find an effective treatment plan, talk to your doctor.

Mood swings are just one of the symptoms facing menopausal women. Going through menopause is no picnic, in fact, many women experience years of symptoms, from hot flashes to weight gain, poor sleep, and even light bladder leakage. And unfortunately because the symptoms are often embarrassing, many do not seek the help and management tools they need.
Try Poise Hourglass Pads for light bladder leakage

Poise Hourglass Pads are specifically designed for larger women who are experiencing light bladder leakage due to menopause. They are designed to work with a woman's shape, providing protection that fem care products like Always, Kotex, and Stayfree don’t provide. Even today, a high percentage of women continue using period only pads for LBL.

If regular incontinence pads or feminine care products are not giving you the protection you need, try Poise Hourglass pads. They're available in 3 absorbencies and sizes, and are targeted for light bladder leakage in women over age forty, who may be carrying a few extra pounds.

Women told us that “men would design pads with straight sides... but only a woman would design the hourglass shape”. Many straight sided pads twist, bunch, or rope, and this leads to decreased protection and leaking. The Poise Hourglass is designed to avoid these problems and they offer a feminine look and feel. While a relatively new product, 43% of women who have tried Poise Hourglass have made the switch.

Poise Hourglass pads are great for nighttime trips to the bathroom when some have to do the ‘dribble dance’ to make it just in time. They’re designed to move with you so they stay comfortably in place.
